I am currently just under one month from my Disney vacay - yessss!!!! As I’ve mentioned before, there is significantly more planning involved in a Disney trip than any other vacation I’ve ever taken. That being said… it’s totally worth it. Now that I work for Magical Journeys and specialize in Disney Travel I have a far different perspective of the planning process than when I just booked everything on my own with no official training. I thought I’d share what’s going through my mind right now, at this point before my trip.
My To Do List
I hope you found this helpful. I’ll probably do another post in a couple of weeks with updated lists. Happy planning!
- I just received notification yesterday (30 days from arrival) that my Magic Bands have shipped. I can’t wait for them to arrive!
- I just received my official (online) runDisney race packet. My husband and I are running in the Wine & Dine Half Marathon - my first ever Disney race (other than running to rides at park opening). This came right as I was expecting - a month before the race.
- I verified yesterday that we’re all set up for Disney’s Magical Express. Note: I did this as part of being a travel agent. When I was using Magical Journeys as a customer prior to working with them they took care of this for me.
My To Do List
- Take note of my clothing situation. Is there any clothing I’ll need to buy for this trip? This may include my regular park attire or my race attire. (I will be travelling in November. Because I live in the Midwest my summer clothes will not have been used for quite some time when I leave)
- Double check my flight numbers in two weeks and then right again before I leave. I found out yesterday (actually, when reserving my Magical Express service) that our flight numbers changed and we received no notification. That was fun.
- Review the list of refurbishments (both now and 1-2 weeks before departure) to see if anything has been updated. Make any necessary changes to fastpasses or dining reservations.
- Review park hours. Has anything changed?
- If I wasn’t someone who walks/runs a lot, now would be a good time to start walking and breaking in a good pair of walking shoes for the trip. You will be astonished at how much walking there is at Disney. I’ve been many many times… and every time I am still shocked at how much we walk every day.
I hope you found this helpful. I’ll probably do another post in a couple of weeks with updated lists. Happy planning!
