A Disney cruise fare includes your stateroom, most onboard meals, many nonalcoholic drinks, Broadway-style entertainment, movies, pools, recreation and supervised youth spaces. That makes the base fare more inclusive than it may first appear—but it does not cover every part of the vacation.
This guide separates the major inclusions from the common extras so first-time cruisers can compare sailings and build a more realistic vacation budget. What does the Disney cruise fare include?
Your basic cruise price generally includes:
- Your selected stateroom, along with applicable taxes and port fees shown in the booking price.
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner at rotational dining rooms, casual venues and quick-service locations.
- Soft drinks, coffee and tea served with meals and at self-service beverage stations.
- Many snacks, quick bites and unlimited soft-serve ice cream.
- Live stage shows, deck parties, first-run and classic Disney movies, and scheduled character appearances.
- Pools, waterslides and many onboard sports and recreation activities.
- Supervised youth clubs for eligible ages.
- Most room-service menu items and twice-daily stateroom service.
Exact restaurants, shows, recreation and character opportunities vary by ship and itinerary. Use this list as a planning framework rather than a promise that every ship offers the same experience.
Dining: what is included and what costs extra?
Disney Cruise Line's rotational dining is included in the fare. Guests dine in different themed main restaurants during the sailing while the assigned service team rotates with them. Casual dining, quick-service meals, snacks from many locations and soft-serve ice cream are also included.
Most room-service menu items are included, although certain items or delivery situations may carry a fee. A gratuity for room-service delivery is at the guest's discretion.
Adults-only and other premium dining experiences cost extra, and reservations may be limited. Specialty snacks sold at select venues can also be an added expense. If a particular restaurant matters to you, check its current price and reservation requirements before the booking window opens.
Which drinks are included?
Soft drinks, coffee and tea are included during meals and at the ship's designated beverage stations. The location matters: the same soda ordered from a bar or lounge may be charged to your onboard account.
Alcoholic drinks, specialty beverages and bottled water are generally extra. Disney may offer beverage packages or pre-purchased options, but the terms vary. Families who mainly use the included dining-room and self-service beverages can keep this category small; guests who prefer cocktails, specialty coffee or bottled drinks should create a separate allowance.
Entertainment, pools and youth spaces
Many of the experiences that fill a sea day are part of the fare: stage productions, deck parties, movies, pools, waterslides, sports areas and scheduled character encounters. This is one reason a Disney cruise can work well for a multigenerational group—family members can choose different included activities without adding a separate ticket for each one.
Supervised youth clubs are included for eligible children and teens. Nursery care for the youngest cruisers is a separately priced service and may require a reservation. Age eligibility, hours and activities can change, so review the official Navigator app and your sailing information rather than relying on an old schedule.
What is included at Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay?
Most Disney cruises in the Bahamas and Caribbean include a stop at either Disney Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. On those visits, basic beach access, a barbecue-style lunch, select beverages and a range of beach activities are included.
Optional Port Adventures, equipment rentals, spa treatments, alcoholic drinks and other premium experiences cost extra. Island stops are also subject to itinerary and weather changes, so consider them an expected part of the sailing rather than a guaranteed port call.
What should you budget for beyond the fare?
The most common additional expenses are:
- Gratuities: Recommended gratuities for the dining-room and stateroom teams are separate from the base fare unless prepaid. Disney also adds gratuities to certain bar, beverage, premium dining and spa purchases.
- Port Adventures: Most organized shore excursions have an additional per-person charge.
- Premium dining and specialty food: Adults-only dining and select treats are not part of the standard meal plan.
- Alcohol, specialty beverages and bottled water: These are generally charged separately.
- Internet: The Disney Cruise Line Navigator app works through the ship's complimentary Wi-Fi, but internet-access packages cost extra.
- Spa, salon, photography and nursery care: These optional services are separately priced.
- Transportation: Travel to and from the cruise terminal is not included in the fare and needs to be arranged separately.
A simple way to estimate your total trip cost
Divide the vacation into three budget buckets:
- Cruise fare: Stateroom, taxes, port fees and the included onboard experience.
- Getting to the ship: Airfare or driving costs, terminal transportation, parking and any pre- or post-cruise hotel you arrange.

This approach makes it easier to compare two sailings with different fares. A less expensive cruise can still cost more overall if flights, port transportation or must-do excursions are significantly higher.
